I saw two. One was the traditional Don’t Tread on Me flag. Another was the “no step on snek” version. Both were hung in dorm windows, facing outward for all to see. And no, I didn’t ask about it. I’m not going to put the tour guide on the spot like that. |
| My son was very interested in both. He received good merit aid at Lehigh and no merit aid at Villanova. He ended up committing somewhere else entirely. If your child is interested in sciences or engineering, my son thought that Lehigh offered much more flexibility in those areas with ability to change majors, not commit right away and interesting programs and focus, and he liked their programs much more than Villanova's. The greek life seemed equally prevalent on both campuses. Both schools have a very NY/NJ/CT vibe to them. |
| Do students at Lehigh feel isolated from city life? There doesn't seem to be much going on in Bethlehem. |
Sounds like a healthy forum for the exchange of views at Villanova if those students haven't been expelled for creating an unsafe environment. They'll have to put a stop to that. |
My nephew is a senior there. There’s plenty going on in Bethlehem, which is a small city of around 75,000 people. Bigger than Bethesda. |
“Don’t step on sneak” is a parody AFAIK. |
LMAO. |
Bethlehem is a great town with plenty to do. The steel stacks, within walking distance, is always hosting concerts, festivals, okotberfest, etc. The last time we were there, there was a chili festival and all the local restaurants had tables set up outside with what they had prepared. The town of Bethlehem is surrounded by the suburbs of Allentown, Pa, so every store you could imagine is within a few miles and NYC and Philly are both only about an hour away. That being said, Lehigh students are usually on and around cam |
|
Except when there’s traffic, which is all the time. LOL. How do you get to NYC, 85 miles away, in an hour? Pre-paid speeding tickets? |
It has a great candy store, which is all my DS cared about. |
If you are looking for a city vibe, Lehigh is not the place, but many students are not looking for that. |
| Better Lehigh or V? |
| Better social life to meet a husband or wife? |
| One has a strong Greek party culture and is located in an unattractive location, while the other is much more tame with a beautiful location. |
