Yes? |
Not for the taxpayers. There's no way I'm voting for a Democrat in 2022 or 2024 because of this kind of thing. -Biden Voter in '20 |
| People complaining about this are actively participating in class warfare. |
You are going to vote for a hateful bigot criminal who tried to overthrow an election because Biden is giving borrowers a break?! |
By class warfare, do you me a regressive wealth transfer to the wealthy? Because that is what a student loan repayment pause is. |
And, unfortunately, Liberty University alumni are one of the most reliably red blocs of the Republican party's low-information constituency. |
Yes. They were voting R anyway and most weren’t getting good jobs coming from Liberty. And the women probably don’t want to work at all. |
I love how progressives simply ignore this fact. |
Student loan forgiveness is very unpopular. I think it would be the final nail in the coffin for the Democrats. |
Millions in student loans have already been forgiven through Borrowers Defense and PSLF. |
Can you imagine the anti-Dem political ads? Videos of frat parties, spring break shenanigans, and college hipsters sipping lattes followed by the statement "your tax dollars paid for this while inflation runs rampant." |
| I agree with you, OP. My husband and I are both in PSLF, so this program has effectively meant $2,000 that we don’t pay each month times 2+ years and it’s still counting toward our PSLF. We are UMC and this program makes no sense to us. It absolutely drives inflation as well. At dinner today my husband and I were remarking how ridiculous it is that the child tax credit payments were allowed to expire but this program helping a family making $350k HHI is being lauded by progressives. |
| Why do you care? |
Because I pay taxes? |
Yawn. Would I vote from Trump? No. Will Trump be the nominee again? Probably not. Will I vote for 90% of other Republicans for president because of inflation? Yes. Would I vote for Larry Hogan? Yes and I would give him donations. |
