I like their haddock sandwich and chopped salad. Good restaurants don’t have to be fancy or haute cuisine. |
There are people everywhere who think that. |
Takumi in Falls Church has great sushi.
Pupatella. That's it. |
Trummers
L'Auberge Chez Francois Ambar The Inn at Little Washington (too far?) Others that I frequent: Trattoria Villagio, all of the Great American Restaurants I personally am meh on these frequently mentioned ones: 2941, The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm The Goodstone Inn & Restaurant, Clarity and Incheon are on my list to try sooner than later. |
Le Refuge is awesome. Food is great and homey atmosphere. |
Del Ray Cafe |
2941 is sterile atmosphere. Food is ok I guess but I never understood the appeal. |
Grand Carlyle |
Are you talking about Carlyles in Shirlington, that used to be called Carlyle Grand? If so I would have to agree, excellent food there and also at almost every other GAR restaurant. Probably not in the same class as all the bougie DCUM stratosphere but good eating nevertheless. |
Ada's on the River in Old Town.
Virtue Feed & Grain isn't bad (also in Old Town). Cedar Knoll, down the Parkway towards Mt. Vernon - if it's nice, you can sit outside overlooking the river. |
Clare n dons is only good for drinks and live music. Food is awful. Lazy Mike's has good food. |
These really expensive restaurants have disappointed us because the food is often no better than many less expensive restaurants. But they do offer decor and service, but the prices are beyond the food quality. |
