WiS is MORE rigorous than whatever you call top 3 or top 5 or whatever dc-centric ranking you have in mind.

It is true that few kids go from WIS to those because....why would you go backwards?

WIS is in DC, so it’s moronic to talk about DC-centric rankings.

Claiming WIS is at the level of the Big 3 is ridiculous. WIS has academic issues that are well-known, and kids who do manage to apply out successfully struggle in more rigorous schools like NCS/STA, Sidwell, and GDS.

I was a Rochambeau lifer. I moved away but have now returned to DC and my son will start maternelle next fall. A few peers went to Sidwell for high school. Others went to Stone Ridge, NCS, and WIS. None of them were top students and most were more athletically or artistically inclined. Choosing the American system for high school frees up a lot of time for extracurricular activities.
