I agree with you that Lucia is too close, but I do love that name.
Lots of good suggestions. I particularly like Paloma, Claudia, Clara, Eva, Giulia (or just make it simple and spell it Julia), Anna. |

Penelope…. I know it’s an English name but also assuming Spanish because of Penelope Cruz
Milagros |
Beatrice is actually originally of Italian origin (pronounced bay-uh-TREE-cha, she is Dante's muse and his guide through Paradise) so that would work too. Even with the non-italian pronunciation (Bee-uh-tris). Though I do also love the Beatriz spelling. Also, have you suggested your parents call her Bea (pronounced either bee-uh or bay-uh)? I get why Spanish speakers would be super thrown by -trix, but the first part of the name is phonetic in any Romance language. Though I get that sometimes it's hard to control what your parents do. |
And there's actually a beautiful Spanish-language song called Penelope... I don't think it ever got much play in the US I feel like it was popular in South America in the 90s or maybe early 00s? Plus origins are Greek, not English, so really not that far off from Italian or Spanish in terms of pronunciation. |

| There are lots of good suggestions! Just don't choose Splendora. |

Celestina
Regina or Reina Diana |

Isidora
Aurelia Emiliana Olimpia Alba Ester Tulia Eloisa Sol Candela |
It’s Isadora |
| OP I am really curious what you will choose so please come back and let us know!! |

Paloma was my first thought when I read the title. Funny that it is one of the names you like. Beatriz is more Spanish, I love Iris and Inez too.
Definitely don't name Lucia or any L names. I have 3 kids and when I'm tired they're easy to mix up and my kids names aren't similar at all! |
