What is the dress code for school employees?

I work in a high school, and I have to say it drives me nuts when I go in a classroom and can't figure out who the teacher is because the teacher is dressed like the students and blends in. I am not saying that all teachers should wear suits, but at least wear something that is appropriate to work with high school ladies and gentlemen. I have a hard time enforcing dress code, when some of the teachers aren't up to code themselves. Fortunately this is only a problem for some, but administration doesn't want to deal with it. I wish parents would complain, maybe something might change. There is no excuse for it! Even our teachers who work with the severely impaired students dress professionally.

And it's impossible for teachers to dress like the professionals they are? At what other professional job are flip flops OK?

I think this one is a generational thing. I think pool and beach when I see flip-flops, but the young women in my office wear "dress flip-flops" wtih their business casual slacks and skirts.
