What do you buy at HMart or other Asian groceries?

I go to Lotte and tend to shop most in the Indian food section

Spices - fenugreek, turmeric
Tamarind paste
Roasted Chickpeas for snacking
Raw chickpeas and lentils for cooking

Canned coconut milk
Canned jackfruit

Shoyu sauce

Candy and chewing gum flavors not found in conventional grocery stores

Produce
Asian sauces
Meat (I think the quality of the ground beef and ground pork is really good)
Kimchi
Mochi
Dumplings

Frozen mandu (dumplings)
Rice cakes - fresh and frozen
Kimbap- in prepared foods
Seasonings including soy sauce, sesame oil, fermented soybean paste (I check labels to avoid made in China)
Red pepper flakes
Dried rice noodles or buckwheat noodles
Gim (dried seaweed)
Tea
Oxtail
Produce
Tofu
Housewares including ceramic pans, indoor slippers, little dishes

This looks like my grocery list at hmart

I also will get some choco pie and wasabi sometimes. Much cheaper at hmart.

+1

I love MSG. I got a little panda shaped glass of it in Japan and now I just buy the bags to refill. No shame in my umami game!

Pretty much only that and fresh fruit/veggies.

I just bought some frozen last night. Can't wait to grill it.

Why would you buy it frozen?

So I can grill it tonight with the nicer weather.

I looove kimchi jjigae. But I like mine with a little more pork. The last time I made it, I used chopped boneless pork shoulder instead of the pork belly. It turned out great. Just another option if you’re ever in a pinch!
