If no plastic, how to do snacks?

Blech, I am all for homemade, but those are unappetizing ideas.
Sliced apples get brown
Scrambled eggs get COLD!
Toast gets soggy.


You can also cut and core the apple then reassemble with a rubber band to hold together. Dad trick. Won’t brown, and the band gets reused.

Buy a big bag and put into paper sandwich bags. Lunchskins have a seal at the top so easy to use for things other than sandwiches.

The point is to reduce single use plastic, not eliminate it. Some plastics reduce food spoilage and waste so on balance may be okay. And plastic tubs (like for mozzarella) are theoretically reusable and recyclable.

We have small containers and reusable bags for snacks -fruit, goldfish, graham crackers… single serve packets are only for road trips. It’s less waste, not no waste
