Prince William County mom on rant about masks

And now truth about covid today: it is less of a risk, according to official and reliable government data, than many typical daily activities we engage in without fear. Per a recent NYT article:

"Once you get a booster, your risk of getting severely ill from Covid is tiny. It is quite small even if you are older or have health problems. The average weekly chance that a boosted person died of Covid was about one in a million during October and November (the most recent available C.D.C. data). That risk is not zero, but it is not far from it. The chance that an average American will die in a car crash this week is significantly higher — about 2.4 per million. So is the average weekly death rate from influenza and pneumonia — about three per million. With a booster shot, Covid resembles other respiratory illnesses that have been around for years. "

The Biden administration is blowing the messaging and losing the narrative. The only - and I mean only - number that matters is a numerator over a denominator that defines your likelihood of dying from covid. And if you're fully boosted, that number is now virtually 0.

Everything else is noise...mask quality, ventilation, social distancing, etc etc. It mattered early on, but not anymore. Cases don't matter, except as they might 'overwhelm' hospitals...though we cannot live under that threat forever.

Every credible expert outside of the administration is calling for rapid reduction of restrictions, starting with masks. I truly hope Biden's experts get control of the narrative - the economy is booming and the vaccines work, but no one feels better because we are still being told to hunker down. It's bad politics, and inconsistent with the science and facts on the ground.

And yes, it is why Youngkin won - democrats never offered an off ramp. Mask forever, school shutdowns no big deal, and so on. Should we rip the masks off kids now while omicron is still a threat? No. But where was/is the offramp metrics from Duran? APS? Arlington County? Democratic controlled Richmond?

Do you just copy & paste this same monologue to a bunch of threads?

Huh, what a difference a week makes. Now she looks rational and level

I do wonder if some of the hysterical covidians will ever take a moment to reflect on the fact that they allowed themselves to reach hysteria simply be believing ever single media story.

My kids' school is mask optional. The % of teachers unmasked is around 90%, vs. 50% for the kids.

I'm good with removing masks just as soon as the Covid vaccine is added to the list of other vaccinations required to attend school.

Nope. No doubt this lady will go down as starting the way of unmasking in schools.

We don't mandate the flu vaccine, and the flu is more dangerous to kids than COVID. You all lost the election on this issue.

I would have sympathy for you people who don't trust your own vaccines, but you don't follow the science or statistics. Time to take the L. You lost.

And yes, these moms speaking up about forcibly masking children will go down in history as heros while you COVIDians will remembered similar to the Joseph McCarthy supporters during the Red Scare. I shoul be more gracious, but after 2 years, having our freedoms abused and my children abused with this forcible masking of children, I'm done.

Please point anything factually wrong with the risk analysis (hint: you can’t).

Masking in schools is idiotic covid political theater. Your kids are being used as pawns.

That’s nice.

These shots prevent neither the contraction nor the spread of Covid so a mandate does what?

Besides making you feel good that even the smallest school
aged children were coerced into this experiment?

In the 2019-2020 flu season flu deaths set a near record at 188 deaths. 700 kids have died of covid since the start. So just figured it was even per year that is 350 a year. So no, flu is not more dangerous (assuming we are looking at deaths)

Omicron isn't a threat to kids. Masks don't work even if it was. #UrgencyOfNormal NOW

The kids aren't the only humans inhabiting a school building.

You’re going to have to be constantly upset because that won’t happen. Covid is a very small risk for children firstly, so this push to inject kids with a substance of unknown longterm safety is strange. (Go to Pfizer’s website, they say quite clearly that there may be unexpected serious side effects, and that trials are ongoing to determine what those will be.)

Data is showing the vaccine reduces severe outcomes. It neither prevents the spread nor the contraction of the virus. They have no basis to mandate it.

But they are the overwhelming majority. Kids can’t mask forever for adults.
