PP above you reference. From a NYT article I saw today "the Best Boxed Chocolates." If a chocolatier takes painstaking care to use only the finest ingredients, without any preservatives, the ideal window for consumption is two weeks from the day they are made. Your best bet is to buy as close to the day you’ll be giving them as possible. So I would stand by my, "eat them in a week" to be fresh (assuming you received them in a timely manner, otherwise have all 32!!) |
Interesting. That is the lede of the article I quoted from the NYT. If you’re looking for a truly special box of luxurious chocolates to give someone, you can’t go wrong with the Recchiuti Confections Black Box (16 pieces). We’ve evaluated 25 brands over the years in taste tests with food experts and Wirecutter staffers, and we’ve found the flavors, craftsmanship, and packaging of these Recchiuti chocolates to be nothing short of sophisticated—and, if the occasion calls for it, maybe even a little seductive. |
| 2 first day then 1 each day after. |
Hahaha! Did that OP ever come back and name the store, as promised?! |
| Would last me about 2-3 hours. |
| Get out the knife and cut them up. But I have no will power. |
| Just one more...(repeat) |
Same. Good intentions, zero willpower when it comes to nice chocolates. |
Many places. That's the low end of the high end. |
Thank you! I was worried the sarcasm would go over everyone's head and the thread would derail into disordered eating. |
Seriously, it’s amazing that no one posted that sugar is poison and they’d never eat chocolates. |
| I'd probably have 5 or 6 a day. I usually don't like a lot of the candies in assorted chocolate boxes. I eat the all caramels one day, the truffles the next day and then usually leave the rest. |
I love Recchiuti too, this is what I send for special occasions. Unless the person appreciates whimsical things, in which case Burdicks. |
You can’t really eat 5 a day of that kind of thing though. It’s not meant to be pounded. 2-3 max — and definitely share!! |
|
I’d probably eat 2 the first day and then 1-2 a day afterwards if my husband and kids had not polished them off.
We usually have a small dessert after dinner, although I don’t participate every day. I imagine for 2 days we’d get them out for desert, cut them in half and try different flavors together. |
