I love Marianne!
|
| As a female name, Marian is the English/feminine variant of Marion, which is a female derivative of Mary/Marie. Marion is a unisex name with different origins as a male name (from Marius). Marianne is a combination of Mary and Anne, and a totally separate name. I like Marian best, but it will probably get misspelled as Marion sometimes. But Marianne also has a number of spellings, so I think all of your choices will result in misspelling. I have a non-standard spelling of a common name and find it INCREDIBLY annoying, but mine is almost universally spelled one way (think Rebecca vs. Rebekah), so perhaps people would pay closer attention since there's no one standard way to spell Marian or Marianne. |
| Definitely Marianne |
| In Romania and some other Eastern European countries this is a boy name fyi |
| PP here the name Marian |

Everyone saying they think Marian is a typo, have you never read/watched Robin Hood?
OP, to me they’re very different names and I think Marianne is prettier but Marian would be better suited to my family’s last name. I like them both though. Congratulations! |
| Marian. I don't like the sound of Anne so variations of Maryann grate on me a bit. They're both good names, though. |
lmao what. Marian is a very old English name, I have no idea what tf "Mairin" or "Marin" is, I've never heard of a single real live person with either of those names. |
| I have a Marian and we do see it often misspelled "Marion", but I also think "Marianne" would get spelled "Mary Anne" so to me that seems like six of one, half a dozen of the other. |
| Marianne is okay. Love Marian! I don’t know if I’ve ever met anyone with it. |
|
Marian.
Do not like Marianne at all. |
| Marian is lovely |
Marion was a mayor of Washington, DC. Marian was a librarian in River City, Iowa. |
It's a boy name in Eastern Europe. The only woman I know with this name is Marian Wright Edelman, founder of the Children’s Defense Fund. |
