Had not thought about this scenario in a while.
But this afternoons weather apocalypse has me worried! |
| I was stuck in that on the way back from Florida with my daughter. Engaged 4Low, drove over snow bank and through a grassy area to an exit. Took about four hours from then to get home but glad we did as we did not have much food or water with us. Good memories. |
| I always keep a collapsible toilet and a roll of toilet paper in my trunk, plus a few bottles of water. |
| I keep camping supplies and emergency food in my car. But usually no water |

Certainly a week, probably longer. I have a packed “get home bag”, along sleeping bag, tent, first aid kit, along with other survival gear, including water purification. Food is limited to a few MRE packs, some sardines, crackers and energy bars, but I don’t think I’d run out of food for at least a week. And then I could probably last another few weeks just on body fat. I can make all the water I need with my purification gear, so water isn’t a concern.
I’d say up to a month, honestly. Wouldn’t be pleasant, but it’d be a lot more pleasant than dying. |
| I've got a pack of gum and some napkins from Chipotle. I'd last a couple of hours, for sure. Beyond that, I'd probably get bored and wander out into the snow or night or floodwaters and not be found. Truthfully, it's one of my "disappear and start a new life" fantasies. |
| On Amazon i recently bought 24 mre four about $88. I keep two in the car at all times . Have a sleeping bag in the trunk, an emergency tent, a survival kit, emergency stove and lots of ramen |
