Why is APS so quiet?

Teachers and staff with COVID

This isn't correct. Some schools show up twice (Claremont and Glebe) and other schools where I know there were staff absences yesterday don't show up at all (Key).

Claremont is actually there three times. This plot is a mess.

Take it up with Qualtrics. That’s a direct piece from the dashboard. Those are only staff positive with Covid. There are stuff out for other reasons. If you click on the actual – four you’ll see there was someone out from Key due to being a close contact. That’s a different graph.

APS really should be embarrassed by that plot. How many months has it been now?

Do you guys know how much rhinovirus is going around now too? What about RSV or the flu?

There are 3 vaccines available and boosters. Plus, kids are at statistically 0 risk with COVID.

My kids are in school and loving it.

Montgomery County and DC are providing useful info AND test kits.

A teacher can easily email class. Teacher email to “class 1” distribution list with message Body “I will be out until Monday. Be well.”

I think teachers have been worn down by parents. And I support them fully. But knowledge about my child’s school environment during a pandemic worsening is reasonable.

Schools are slammed right now. Please
Show some grace. I don’t think you can expect an update in the first two days back unless it’s something urgent. They are trying to get everyone back into a school routine and doing it short staffed.

The Qualtrics plot was coded last spring when we firststarted getting the survey. They've had 9 months to work out kinks in the code. It's not like this is work that's been done in the last two weeks.

DP and I agree the Qualtrics page is a mess, but that's not going to be solved by taking up time from principals or Central Office sending email upon email to every segment of the population with details most of which aren't actionable.

It’s a direct pull from the employees profile, so it’s not really Qualtrics that’s listing them twice. There must’ve been something off the way they were initially loaded into their HR system.

No, but surely they could have fixed the code in the last 9 months. Let's stop giving APS a pass when they don't deserve it. This is basic incompetence.

Also many employees are coded as Syphax when they are school based (social workers, SLPs, etc). Because Syphax is listed as their home base.

My child's grade is doing an inventory of who has internet to prepare for a shift to virtual learning.
