Perhaps you can drop him off at a local dry cleaners.
Hopefully not one that you regularly go to just so you can continue going in w/your pride in tact. 😉 |
Yeah...tend to agree. Unless the teddy bears of velveteen rabbit and coming to life at night and breathing on you, I would just not worry about it. |
You've never washed him?!
Just use the delicate cycle or hand wash |
I realize this is a new question...but all of you wash your kid's stuffed animal collections regularly? Just the ones they sleep with? |
We give Mister Teddy Bear a nice bath in the sink with Woolite about twice a year. We try to do it in the spring and fall so he can dry off outside and enjoy the sunshine. We make sure he is handled with lots of care and thus he never gets fussy. Usually the sink water is pretty clear/not dirty. We don't really wash the other stuffed animals since they don't get much use but Mister Teddy Bear is different. He plays all over the house and goes on trips with us so we know his fur needs a little extra TLC. We even made a little song for his bath time. |
Alcohol spray from CVS or other. Spray entirety of bear and leave out in sun for a day. Alcohol dissipates quickly with no residue or smell. Go a step further ad strip beds and spray mattresses and pillows - open windows. Hundreds of uses for alcho spray. I spray couches, rugs, bathrooms. Ventilation is key. |
No, not regularly. But if they start looking grungy, they go in the wash. |
What a great teddy. He has gone above and beyond in service to your family. I think he's probably fine as is, but if you need to do something for your own comfort, I would go with putting him in a bag and into the dryer for a while. |
The cutesy shit is really getting old. Adults use this website, not children. |
DP. It’s sad how you lack imagination. |
I toss them in the dryer with a damp cloth and a Bounce, because we have high dust mite allergies. I do this with the sheets about quarterly but should do it more often. |
we have an old teddy that my kid is attached to (was mine) and i just feel like the thing is gross. we have had him dry-cleaned. i wonder if it makes sense to open and then re-stuff him. the inside has got to be gross no matter how often we clean him |
Because the heat kills the dust mites, or something special about Bounce and the wet cloth? DO you mean you only wash and dry your sheets 4x a year? |
Lol came here to say this sounds like a velveteen rabbit situation |
