If it was a problem, why didn’t you just buy some newborn clothes during that month? That’s what I did. |
We’ve always given our baby cold bottles and he’s fine with it. |
NP here. Being “fine” doesn’t mean it’s the best practice. Poor baby doesn’t know any better. Body temperature liquid is easier to process for babies and adults. |
This is seriously a quick google. There is no medical reason or “best practice” guidance to warm bottles lol. OP, a bottle warmer is preference. My kid drinks straight off the boob, or a cold bottle, and he’s perfectly content with either. |
Op here. Thanks for this! Super helpful to know about delays on particular items. |
Op here. Good to know- I'll check out that book. |
Op here. Great tip thank you! My mom says don't put anything on registry under 3 months as well. |
Op here. I guess it really isn't one size fits all
|
Op here. Thanks for all the thoughts on warm v room temp bottle. I have no idea what we think on this but great to know all the perspectives. So many things to have a perspective on...overwhelming! |

there were supply chain issues with the specific car seat i wanted (nuna pipa rx). i actually got all the furniture off of craigslist, or i am sure there would have been supply chain issues there. craigslist does mean needing a truck and another person to get, say, a glider. (worth it, i got two monte gliders for $400 total)
things i bought/was gifted beforehand: a baby carrier, the nuna pipa, a babyzen yoyo w/adapters for the nuna, two newborn and 0-3mo outfits, the babylist bottle and pacifier assortment boxes, and bassinet. everything rose waited until i had a baby in hand. i will say that the baby+carseat was too heavy for me to really carry for some weeks, so the super light baby zen was a godsend |
| oh, and one of the gliders i got beforehand |

How rich are your parents?
Is this your first child? I wouldn't rely on every item in the registry as a guaranteed gift |
Yep! We did cold at first but realized our guy was so much more comfortable after a warm bottle (better for reflux and spit up) so depends on your baby and if they have a more sensitive stomach. |
+100 on our fourth kid and this is the only advice I feel qualified to give |

I don't think you need anything immediately before a shower. Car seats come in 2 days. I definitely used my nursery right when we came home from the hospital. I changed baby constantly on the changing table, rocked in the rocking chair and hung all the little clothes up in the closet. Baby slept in a bassinet until 11 weeks and then used the crib from then on. I used my stroller immediately when I came home. Babies are soothed by the stroller and it's a great way to walk off pounds.
Furniture takes MONTHS to be delivered, but that isn't something that I see on registries though. |
