How Can I Bring Up Baby’s Weight Without Supplementing?

Anonymous
I recommend you keep trying formula or triple feed. Nurse, pump, and feed. It will be tough but that’s one way. Another way is to pump and then comfort nurse until your baby gets the weight up.

I said bollie in my post and I meant Bobbie

If you’re not using formula, then you have to try triple feeding. The poster on page on explained it. You can start that right away. Also second the recommendation to access a lactation consultant. Worth every penny.

Try mixing formula slowing into breastmilk.

Tak to a good LC. My son refused bottles when I went back to work and the LC had a large number of tricks. I'm sure a good one will have tricks for formula too (I personally saw Brittany Hunt who I think has a solo business now).

You have to get your baby’s weight up. That trumps any and all of your desires.

OP here. I don’t feel comfortable with imported formula with the pandemic. I have no clue how it’s stored and if anything will be contaminated.

Oh FFS! This isn’t about you. It’s about the baby. You should probably also be checked for post party I’m depression bc you’re not thinking straight. That or you are incredibly sleep deprived bc you are feeding every 2 hours around the clock. That also is t good for the baby bc he’s not getting bouts of deep sleep.

Also it may not be the formula baby doesn’t like but instead the nipples. I’d experiment w/ those. Try como tomo newborn

Supplement with /using an SNS. Supplement doesn’t only have to be via bottle. It also preserves breastfeeding, and the stimulation can help increase supply.

Yeah OP, I think you're underreacting to the issue here. Kid needs more calories NOW. He's needed more calories. You need to do whatever you can to get more calories into him.

You need to cal your doctor asap for your post partum depression and anxiety. Your paranoia over the formula and your inability to understand that your paranoia and anxiety are causing you to not feed your baby. This is serious.

In the meantime, get a some similac and let someone else give the baby a bottle while you leave the house so at least the baby stays fed and hydrated. Understand that it is not only food but hydration that your baby is missing and a baby that young can succumb to dehydration quickly.

There is nothing wrong with not feeding imported formula during a pandemic. HIPP was recalled and no one knew until late.

Many pediatricians and experts have said to avoid imported formula.

It is. She said her baby will take breastmilk from a bottle.

She tried 5 formulas and the baby won’t take any of them. Many babies reject formula. That doesn’t mean she has PP. You’re being dramatic.

And yet OP’s pediatrician recommended it. Someone is getting false information.

Where are American formulas made? Most Overseas.
