Daycare expectations

My kid is 18 months and attends an in-home. I get short updates and pictures texted me throughout the day. I prefer to ask questions over text Vs. at pick-up because I want to go home too. In high school, I worked in a day care center. We had a clipboard for each child where we indicated diaper changes, amount eaten, naps taken, etc... So I guess some places must still provide that level of information.

If I am concerned about napping or eating, I make sure to ask specifically, "how long did he sleep? What and how much did he eat?"
