We alternate who we spend Thanksgiving with. The athsnksgiving before covid we were with DH's side, last year no one bc of covid, this year will be with my side. And after years of traveling for xmas, once we had our second child, we said we wouldnt travel for xmas anymore. So each year my parents snd siblings (live 2 hrs away) come over for a few hours on xmas Eve and then my in laws (live 1.5 hrs away) come over for dinner on xmas day.
We alternate Christmas (between three sets of parents that are plane rides away) but stay home for Thanksgiving.
We alternate both. We're on the same schedule with my brother and his family. In-laws are local, so they're always in town.
Alternate Christmas, Thanksgiving with in-laws since theyβre driveable. When we lived far never traveled for Thanksgiving.
Sounds depressing. My kids love seeing all their cousins on holidays. Home alone would be like every other day |

We used to rotate. SIL for Christmas, other sister in law for Easter, weβd do Thanksgiving. But now we just host or, if family doesnβt want to join, have our own merriment as a small family.
