1. And adult male buck can weigh 300lbs and run at 45mph. 2. Wildlife is notorious for panicking at the approach of a vehicle and running TOWARDS the sound, not away from it. 3. Result: you're lucky to come out of it with just car damage. I'm glad your son is OK, OP. |

LOL maybe your kid was speeding and ran off the road and dinged up the car and blamed on a deer.
When my DH was a teen, he messed up his dad's car, but he lived in the country and there are tons of dead deer so he found a deer, rubbed it on the front hood and made it look like he hit a deer. |
I was once driving in a caravan of friends through a mountain range. A big buck with several antlers came off the mountain and tried to leap across the road and leaped onto the hood of my friends pick up truck. Would not have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. We were the second car. That deer ran into the truck. We were all grateful that our friends with cars weren't hit. They would not have survived. That deer did damage. |
| A deer leaped out into the road one dark night and slammed into my son's chest as he was riding a motorcycle. Knocked him off the bike and the deer died. He did not hit the deer, the deer hit him, as many others here have said. Not amusing actually despite many commenters thinking it is. |
| These stories are actually pretty terrifying. I was laughing at first but now, OMG. I didn’t know deer ran AT vehicles. |
