Definitely the smartest choice. |
|
My kid was accepted to U of Alabama with a 3.5 weighted from mcps and per another thread a dcps student was admitted with a 3.4.
Updating this thread as it might be a resource to other parents. |
Alabama is probably more likely than Auburn. Sounds like a lot of kids with this GPA were deferred from EA at Auburn. |

My 3.5W gpa kid (3.0 UW, 29 ACT) got into:
Florida State Indiana Temple Univ of Cincinnati Maryland (that was a surprise) |
Congrats! -For next year? Fall 2022 -Public or private HS? -Boy or girl? -From what state? -White? -Impressive extracurriculars? |
Wow! I had heard Florida state was pretty tough to get into? My kid has similar stats and didn't even bother looking at Florida state because he figured there was no way. |
Auburn requested test scores for anyone sub-3.6 this year. |
+1 Where did your kid apply, pp? |
Wow, great options. Where did he/she go? Is he happy now with choice? |
Accepted: Alabama WVU Longwood Deferred at Auburn, but he actually wanted Alabama more so he's not going to even bother asking the counselor to submit 1st semester grades to Auburn. He knows this means he will almost surely get rejected at Auburn and is ok with that. |
I thought Florida was the tougher admit, not FSU |
Yes, but I thought FSU was still tough. |
This was my kid. Not for next year. Male. From MD. Public but strong coursework and one impressive extracurricular in the arts. |
