It’s the best Elementary School in ACPS and it’s decent but it’s certainly not ranked as one of the best in Virginia.

Is that the atmosphere of the entire school? I can't imagine everyone enjoys those things/wants to participate/can participate

No. We've been there a few years and have not experienced any of that. There was a progressive dinner in pre-pandemic times, but no galas in recent times. At least in my kids classes, several families who could afford to pulled their kids from ACPS and sent them to in-person private last year. It's a good school, but I'd be surprised if it is "one of the best schools in the entire Commonwealth."
