Correcting Grammar

Anonymous
“He over there.” I heard this today from a grown man at the park speaking to someone else and had to reflexively correct. I told my kid it’s “He’s over there..” it’s slang to say He over there. I just cringe when I hear it.

Always. Incorrect grammar is something I can't stand. I don't do it rudely, and I explain to them why what they said is wrong so that they will understand going forward, but I cringe every time I hear:

I could care less
There are 10 less kids here today
Safety deposit box
They did good
I ran further today
Do you want to go to the park with Tommy and I?
Anyways

I could go on and on...

Safety deposit box. What is the issue with that? Thanks.

Oh, Google mislead me. It is safe deposit box, got it.

My husband was joking around with our young son and accidently taught him that they were called "bald-headed eagle".

For example, “I want less potatoes!” “Why do you want fewer potatoes? They’re so delicious!” “He goed to the park today.” “He went to the park today? Which park?”

This is the way to do this without being overbearing.

This. I model proper speech but don’t overtly correct. It all sorts itself out without much effort by age six or so.
