older kids are mean, teagers! rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! bye! |
Mom's who actually admit that having children can be soooo tedious and mind numbing. |
SAHM here. Yes, yes having children can be mind numbing to the point your brain bleeds out of your ears. There, I said it! |
all of the wonderful moms who have posted on this thread! |
the mom who drove 20 minutes in the snow to bring me gatorade when I was home alone sick with my son
the mom who meets me for coffee and helps me laugh at motherhood and at my baby the mom who gives me advice without being patronizing the friend who is not a mom but wants to be who comes over to take care of my baby so i can take a nap or go on a date with my husband the mom who tells me that i am doing a good job on those days when i'm exhausted and coated in spit-up the mom who started this thread thank you all, and i promise to do the same for another new mom |
Thank you from a mom who has been having a rough patch with my toddler! On Saturday afternoon, my husband was home, so I left-walked out the door. I just couldn't take it any longer. Love him to pieces but I have my limits, and my limits were pushed. I know it will get better ![]() |
i love the two moms i know who are totally frank about my preschooler's behavior issues without being judgmental. they acknowledge that, yes, he does have problems and they sympathize with me about what i a difficult time i am having. it's so much more helpful than the moms who ignore, who judge him or my parenting, or who act like i am a child abuser when i talk about his issues and my difficulties dealing with him. |
wish i lived near you guys...need to find moms like you |
i love the other moms in my daycare who tell me how cute my daughter's outfits are. It's stupid, but it always makes me feel good that other people think my daughter looks cute. (and I can only take a little of the credit, given how generous our friends have been.)
on a related note, I love the moms who give me nice hand-me-downs! it's cool that my daughter can wear things i'd never think to pay for, like little Ralph Lauren tennis dresses. and i love the moms who don't judge me for (a) working full-time, (b) being a single mom, or (c) not being able to breast-feed. I don't take criticisms of that stuff personally anyway, but it was nice to receive non-judgmental good wishes from so many people! on my end, I try to "pay it forward" by being nice to other moms, complimenting their kids if they're cute or sweet or whatever, and by being relaxed about my own kid. |
Lol - what a great story! And, a great thread. |
I love the mom who is 9 months pregnant and still jogs everyday by my house. I'm also 9 months and can barely walk up the stairs without losing my breath. I really admire jogger mom. |
I love the moms who work in my company who went part-time (one day off) years before I did so that when I asked for it last year my boss could see how it could work.
They also gave me great advice when I was trying to figure out how to come back to the office after my DD was born. |
I love SAHMs who are really happy and positive about their decision to stay home and do not constantly complain about loss of identity and boredom. |
Moms who find ways, big or small, to make the world a safer, happier, more just place for other peoples' children. |
When you're sleep deprived and it's hard to stay fun and energetic, mom friends who go the extra mile to make my baby smile or laugh because they like to see him happy, too. |
