Yes, they all had their OpenXXX a-hole parents too. |
I’m talking about the comments here, not the actual meeting. People only focus on what the dummies in the public comment say, not the actual substance of the school board meeting. |
That's because the rest of the meeting is the board rubber stamping whatever the staff show them. It's not as much fun. |
DP. If you think there was something worth discussing, why don’t you start that conversation? Does everyone else have to do the work for you? |
So you just listened to the public comments then, got it. The discussion was started - a question asked - did the School Board discuss any changes to the quarantine policies. I don't give a flying F what APE/AEM/DPA/ABCDEFG commented about it, I'm interested in the actual decision making. |
Lol. School board doesn’t make decisions about anything that matters other than boundaries |
Wow, no one here actually watches the meetings. |
I watch but usually not until a few days later unless it’s a hot agenda. I usually have more time on weekends. What were your takeaways? |
The only discussion during rest of the meeting was an update from Duran during the superintendent's announcements and updates portion of the meeting about options for instructional support during covid-related absences. That's it. |
No discussion about length of quarantine, however, they are enhancing the ability for students to learn during their time at home: No later than Day 3 of a student’s quarantine period, schools will provide access one of the following instructional delivery methods, as determined by their teacher: • limited live streamed instruction (Live streaming allows students to view and listen to their teacher providing instruction in the physical classroom in real-time. Not concurrent instruction) OR • recorded mini lessons on concepts for courses or grade levels (Not concurrent instruction) OR • collaborative work via Canvas or Google tools. (Not concurrent instruction) |
Wow - day 3?
That sucks. |
It's "no later than" day 3. Worst case, your kid misses two days of live instruction, which happens all the time with routine illnesses in normal years. It's possible that the school will get it set up sooner than that, this is just building in some flexibility in case there are unexpected hiccups in getting the recording/livestream system set up. |
Thank you! I originally posted the question so glad to finally see some real info. OMG the APE obsessed nut -- post after post of worthless drivel |
The board voted unanimously in favor of the no-seclusion policy. Other than that, nothing. My son had to watch for a Scout merit badge, and he has to write about a disagreement. Boy, did I pick the wrong meeting to attend. |
AEM admin commenting on VPL threads that students lacking teachers should be offered private placements.
Huh? I assume she means virtual private schools, of which there are few. Why not Virtual Virginia? Oh, because they won’t provide IEP services. Newsflash - virtual private schools won’t either! Kids that don’t have any true medical necessity to stay virtual need to get back in the classroom, or their parents need to stop complaining. I can’t believe someone would tolerate several weeks of not having a teacher for any reason other than true medical necessity to remain virtual. Crappy parents. |
