because that is the reality of it. |
You obviously have no experience and it shows. Leave the advice to the ones that have gone through the process |
yet again you are wrong. i spent a lot of time traveling and attending the top tournaments for my kids sport. I saw how the coaches lined the court for the highest brackets in the highest level tournaments while other kids wondered why the coaches didn't attend their tournaments and they had to send videos, pre reads and attend id camps. These top programs know where the top kids play and they will go find them. the others, have to put themselves out there and market themselves. videos, emails, id camps, that isn't being recruited. |
They lined those fields because the top players were emailing, sending videos, attending ID camps etc. Those coaches aren't out there "window shopping". |
Boy o boy. You wrote all that just to say you haven’t gone through the process. Which goes back to my original point. And if you want to know where the top programs get the top kids, it’s at the YNT camps not window shopping. You better sell yourself or you’re not getting sold. |

My co-worker's child is playing at a very good school and did not play for the traditional 'top teams'. She guested in many tournaments, played for a smaller Club and did the contacting/reaching out to Coaches on her own.
Unknown players are not being scouted at these things. The players of Club associate has reached out. |
we did go through it my kid got a full ride and put athlete on their application and is at a top 20 school in their sport. did they market themselves? No they were recruited. never sent an email or a video. |
| Congratulations, your player is very fortunate. However, that is not the norm for all but the top recruits. |
Your kid a female soccer player? If not, it’s irrelevant |
Honey, you used the word "court" which means you are probably not talking about soccer. Basketball recruiting doesn't work the same. Also, in college soccer there are so many international players now at top tier D1 programs, you know they are sending clips of videos etc. |
Don’t believe- and what does “put athlete on application” even Mean? |
Exactly - some school saw his 6’8 8th grade son at a AAU tournament and started going after him |
stop poking the bear |
That's Rick Singer-speak if I've ever seen it before. |
| Which clubs were actually instrumental in the recruiting process. I’m expecting 0 from our club and DD wants to switch clubs next season. Several coaches promise D1 contacts, is this just sales or is it that they have the players that have earned their own path and the coaches are taking credit for their achievements. |
