Agree. The short kid has to be twice as good as the big kid to start or make the top team. |
| You are all missing my point. I agree mostly with the prior couple of posts. But is a kid is short and light, even if they are fast and skilled, they lose in the physical part of the game. The best short players I have seen are SOLID. Not thin, not light. Weight matters. Again—not complaining!!! I wish I could sing, but guess what… I can’t. Genes are genes. |
Ever think about fishing? bird watching? stamp collecting? Adopting? |
Best post in many weeks, maybe months. |
This is laughable because OP's kid isn't going to be playing college soccer either unless you count intramurals. |
How do you know? There are plenty of kids from this area who will play college soccer. |
Because I'm OP's mother and I know my grandson stinks. |
| Not soccer but football. I think it definitely matters. Freshmen Football, the coach doesn't know what to think. How big will these kids grow? What's ahead? If you are your spouse are smaller than average, avoid the coach knowing you. |
| VDA 06s are the smallest in the conference. Coaches just have to Trust the smaller technical players and see what happens |
Because if the OP's kid is on a team with a bunch of out of shape players, it's probably a low level team to begin with. |
|
I call BS on this post. Maybe 10 years ago, but not today.
I have a 2010 boy on a top area team, and there are tons of small kids on his team, and on the teams we play. My daughter is a few years older, and on a 2nd tier team, and there're a wide range of sizes as well. I wonder if the OP's kid just isn't very good, and is just unconsciously using size as an excuse, |
OP says, however, there are other kids who deserve PT more than OP's son. |
And that's why Messi never amounted to anything. |
Messi is a superior athlete first. Im sure if were raised in the Dominican Republic he would have ended up a HOF shortstop. |
First of all, no...no one of his size would play short stop. Second, what's your point exactly? |
