Why can't DCPS test all students?

You think this is a mess- just wait until we all back virtual.

Honestly/ I’ll never understand wealthy people who subject their kids to DCPS.

Ah yes, the "it's a conspiracy!" argument

I’m in an elementary school, getting a group of our 3 and 4 year olds halfway across the school to the designated testing room with a stranger (teachers are still teaching the rest) to then have to give their DOB (which many don’t know) open a tiny tube by themselves, spit into said tube and close it and return to class takes way longer than 10 minutes.

The spit test is ridiculous. Why aren't they doing a quick swab?

My 3 year old screams and cries at the swab, it'd be a total disruption.

My kindergartener did the spit test on Friday and said it was easy. I’m not sure why people are getting so fussed over spitting in a tube…

Why can't we require all adults in schools to be vaccinated?

Why can't we do both?

Why can't we do both?

We can, but requiring all adults to be vaccinated would be a thousand times faster and more effective than trying to test all students. Adults in schools are the real problem when it comes to coronavirus, not kids. Coronavirus rates among kids in schools are much lower than rates among adults in schools.

I think today they said this is happening: https://www.washingtonian.com/2021/09/20/dc-will-require-vaccinations-for-teachers-and-other-adults-in-schools/

So, I go back to Why can't we do both?

I imagine this.
