Anybody here with identical twins gone through college process?

Anonymous
My twins have similar personalities, virtually the same grades, similar test scores, similar ECs. Career interests indeterminate as of yet, but both have similar favorite subjects so far. They attend the same high school. Just wondering, did you learn anything helpful to identicals from guidance counselors or admissions reps? Will one's application hurt the other's if they apply to the same school? They have not expressed a preference for attending school together or apart. If you visited colleges with your identical twins, were they encouraged or discouraged from both applying? Did you purposely encourage your twins to look at different schools or do anything else differently because they were twins? Thanks!

I have fraternal twins and I would also like to hear from parents who have gone through this process. We are in VA and in particular I was wondering if it might be more difficult for BOTH of them to get into UVA or CWM. (This is assuming that they would be interested and/or have decent enough GP + test scores.) I just know that it's already competitive for students from NOVA area, so I wondered if this would be an extra hurdle?
Thanks in advance!

My nieces are identical. They are seniors in HS and just finished up the application process. I can't say much except they visited the same schools, but they applied to some same and some different.

They do have different personalities. They were both accepted to the same school (and others) and they are both attending there. Mostly for cost reasons. They will be living in seperate freshman dorms. They have very different personalities.
