We saw what happened with last years's math scores; that same enhanced rigor is coming to all of the other subjects, plus new "technology enhanced questions" for elementary students this year, and I understand Horizon has not yet enabled that functionality for practice purposes.
Seems like a prescription for ugly. God bless you ES teachers. |
| Really? Our math scores didn't crater... |
| Social studies also had increased rigor last year, and the scores weresn't so bad.--Just a lot fewer "pass advanced" scores. Unfortunately, math scores did crater big time as a state, county, and definitely at my school. In 8 years, I rarely had a student fail the math test (one a year at most) and at least half would typically pass advanced. Last year, I had several fail and only a few pass advanced. We have almost no practice materials that reflect the increased rigor (especially in language arts), so it's definitely going to be interesting. |
For the PP teacher. I've heard from other teachers who mentioned not getting enough practice materials last year either. This mystifies me. Where does the fault lie? Did the state roll out the test but not prepare enough practice material. Just want to know who to blame?
