We have had numerous problems with our new construction home. The builder has basically checked out and denies any responsibility.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? This is our first home purchase and are unsure of how to proceed. Any lawyer recs that have experience with this would be very much appreciated. Thank you. |
Please disclose the name of the builder so that we can all avoid him. |
at least give us some hints on area and year built. |
| Or tell us what is wrong with your house, to even help decide if a lawyer is needed or you are just out of luck. |
| Rhymes with? |

Where is the new house located? DC/MD/VA?
|
LOL movies and now litigation? jk |
| C'mon OP, tell us the builder and spare others! |
| If s/he wants attorney recs she should at least indicate the state as attorneys are licensed by state. So if the property is in VA, MD recs may not help unless the attorney holds a license in both states. |
| If that's a just built home, I always kind of skeptical buying a to be built home, don't know what to expect. |
| what if price went up because of the inflation? will you paying for the amount that you signed the contract? |

OP here, sorry I've been sick the past couple days. I don't want to state the builders name yet. I'm in Va, Fairfax County. The house is already built and we've been living in it a few months. There have been new problems that the builder keeps saying is a result of "settling" but it has not resolved. We had an outside company inspect and it's definitely something that was not done right. But the builder denies any responsibility.
Any VA lawyer recs would be appreciated, thanks. |
What issues? can you also provide the size of the company? , custom builder, tract builder? this will determine how settlement would go. |
| Many lawyers are licensed in all three states or have reciprocity or colleagues or recommendations of ones who are. |
