how are we supposed to serve mimosas?

I have never had it at someone's house, only hotels/restaurants. Should I just put the orange juice bottle and champagne bottle on the table and each person serve him/herself? Or, if I premix it, should I serve it in the glasses already or in some other type of container (a pitcher?) and they serve themselves?

We are only having a couple of relatives for breakfast on Sunday.

I would prepare it in a pitcher and either serve it or invite them to serve themselves.

No, don't pre-mix. Let people make themselves or you make as needed. FYI, if you've never made them before, they will fizz up a lot so add slowly.

How about making the first one and then invite your guests to make refills. I hate it when the host/hostess insists that they either serve all the food and/or serve all the drinks. It's stuffy and old-fashioned and sends the subtle message that the host or hostess will decide how much each guest gets.

+1 for this.

Do not pre-mix.

And this.

Thanks!

If you're going to invite guests to serve themselves, I love having a pitcher of OJ and another of peach nectar so guests can choose mimosa or bellini.
