Swim classes YMCA Bethesda

We are just coming to the end of a session of classes there. I'm not feeling that great about the teacher and before we enroll for a new session I wanted to see if anyone had recommendations for alternative teachers there. I've seen some other teaching classes but its difficult to tell. It's a pre school class we are in.

We've been doing the preschool classes there too, for several sessions. Some of the teachers are definitely better than others. I usually choose the sessions by day and time though, not by instructor. I'm not sure if they even know which instructor will be teaching until at the last minute. I figure the sessions are so short and the expense pretty low, that it won't really matter. It's just taking longer than expected for her to be able to swim on her own.

I know someone who is doing classes at the Bethesda Sport and Health with her 4-year-old, and they do not use the floaties there, so her child is really making swift progress.

OP here. Yes you can tell the instructor for most classes as they have a printed schedule for the next session available in the lobby (might also be on their website not the enrollment site) which lists teachers against all but a small handful of classes. Which teachers have you liked?

We're finishing up a Pre pike -parents in water with the kids- class at the BCC YMCA. This is our second session and I feel like its a complete waste of time. The class has too many kids in it, we can barely hear the teacher - Mary I think her name is - and I don't feel our kids are getting anything from it that we couldn't do in the adjacent part of the pool on our own. I really want my kids to learn how to swim and we are members of the Y so this is the most cost effective option for us, but I'm thinking about looking elsewhere for lessons.

You must be doing a weekend class. They are too large. Our weekday class was only a handful of kids. If you move to the Pike it will e different and there is a wider choice of teachers which might change your experience.
