What is the exam fee at your vet?

At our old vet there was no exam fee for administering vaccines (well visits) and there were both short exam and regular fees for sick visits. At our new Bethesda (we moved) vet the exam fee for a sick visit is $50, which struck me as pricey, especially since the whole visit lasted about 20 minutes. I only have fairly old sick visit bills to compare with but they were around $27 and $45. What do you pay?

I think $50 is normal. That's around what the last two vets I've used charge, and they're not in wealthy areas.

That said, I get all my vaccinations through a mobile clinic, so that I can save the vet visits for when there are issues (weight change, behavior change, illness).

here's the clinic: http://www.luvmypet.com/

I found it saves me a lot of money. I have more than one pet. And the vet charges more for the vaccines, plus a visit charge for each pet to administer.

$60 for a regular exam, but he will usually knock it down to $40 (or free) if it's a repeat visit for the same condition or we have to get some pricier medicines.
