Looking for u r advice in TTC?

Anonymous
I was anemic with a count of 6.3 and had blood tranfusion in march. I had irregular periods before that for abt 6 months.
At blood tranfusion i had my periods and it was for abt 10 days and then i went to the GYN dr. and she prescribed me BC pills for abt 3 months.
From July i am on Metformin 1500mg per day till now along with iron and prenatal vitamins.

Last month I had periods after taking provera and this month still i have not had any period.

Last week I went to checkup for this month, she told me that i need to take HSG test when i get my periods. I am really worried abt the test and dr. bcoz i have visited only thrice during the previous months and I am not sure whether the HSG test is really required at this stage. One of my friend said that this test is done only when TTC periods is for more than a year or so(I have been TTC just for 4 months).
Dr. did not do a blood test also and she is referring me to do a test which is high risky.Kindly say the what are the tests to be done to make my periods regular and conceive.
My fasting blood sugar level is 100 and 2 hr GT test is 142.

What are the tests to be done before getting pregnant? also suggest some good OB/GYN in Reston, Va area.

Please advice me.

With Regards
Sriha

I just did the HSG recently and don't think it is considered very risky. But if you don't think your doctor is responding appropriately to your irregular periods (and from what I've read, it sounds like she should be dealing with your hormone levels rather than looking at whether your tubes are blocked), it is probably time that you see a RE). I think Shady Grove has an office out your way.
