Local monitoring when working with out-of-town clinic

Anonymous
Hi,

I am contemplating doing IVF at RMA in NJ or at CCRM in Denver. Does anyone know of local clinics who will monitor you here for treatment away?

Thanks!

Columbia Fertility is good for bloodwork, but CCRM is never happy with the ultrasounds I do there. It may depend on the doctor, but the ones I've had only count the biggest handful and only use the largest measurement, not the average of both length and width. I'm also unsure about the quality of their ultrasound equipment. That said, they are very good about billing my insurance.

Shady Grove is great in terms of the quality of ultrasounds, but they are unhelpful about billing my insurance and struggle to get me the proper paperwork to do it myself. And even if I self-file, my insurance will only pay Shady Grove. Then I have to collect from Shady Grove, which means time-consuming phone calls.

I've also used Labcorp and Quest for bloodwork, but you have to get there early in the morning to ensure that the STAT results come back in time.

I'm about to start a cycle at RMA mid April and will be doing local monitoring at Shady Grove. I'm hoping it will go smoothly. This is my first time cycling out of town, so we'll see. All of my previous cycles I did at Shady Grove, then decided I needed to leave them bc they just weren't working for me.

I did donor egg with ORM (Oregon Reproductive Medicine). I monitored locally with Dominion Fertility. They were GREAT! They even did all the follow up work until I was 12 weeks along.

Columbia Fertility has new ultrasound machines- great! I have done all my monitoring directly with Dr. Abbasi and she does use averages.

CFA will do monitoring for out of state cycling patients (e.g. CCRM/ORM)

Thank you all so much! I wish you all luck in this area.

Another ORM patient here and used Dominion for local monitoring. I went to the Fair Oaks office which is never busy and I hardly had to wait. I am currently pregnant with twins.
