Funny excuses about why not to vote for Obama.

Anonymous

I have heard some odd reasons why people I know will not support Obama. One person said that she is afraid that he would be assassinated, and that would be awful for his wife and kids, so she will vote McCain!

Has anyone else heard some of these strange reasons?

BTW, I am in health care, and will likely suffer under Obama financially. I would say that that is why I preferred McCain, but the Palin thing changed my mind.

Why would someone who works in health care suffer if Obama is elected?

Do you work for a health insurance company?

At a level unprecedented in modern American history, physicians and medical students from across the nation, from private practice and academic medicine, have come together to sign a letter in support of the Obama health plan. They are members of Doctors for Obama, a grassroots organization of physicians and medical students who believe it is time to make their voices heard in the national healthcare debate. Over 6,000 physicians and 1,000 medical students have signed so far from all 50 states, including many of the nation's most prominent leaders in healthcare. This is believed to be the largest number of physicians ever to endorse a candidate for political office. In the last week alone, over 1000 physicians added their voices to this call. Signatories of this letter include four past presidents of the American College of Physicians, former directors of the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration, a former editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, deans of numerous medical schools, and leaders of medical societies across the country.

"Doctors understand that the healthcare system is broken. We see it every day." said Dr. Nikhil Wagle, co-founder and co-chair of Doctors for Obama and an oncology fellow at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. "That is why we feel so compelled to speak out. Senator Obama's plan will help us provide better care to our patients. Unlike the McCain plan, the Obama plan will extend affordable coverage to all Americans, invest in high quality care with 21st century technology, and bring a greater focus on preventive care and patient safety."

Why? How will Obama's plan hurt doctors?

OP, I know you wanted this thread to go another way, but once you said you will suffer under Obama, you need to at least spell out how you perceive you will suffer.

Please say what your reasons are, because it appears to the pps and me that your perceptions may not be completely accurate.

Folks, give OP a break! She's voting for your (our) candidate. That's all she needs to do. You don't have to convince her to agree with you on everything before she does the thing we want her to do!

Loved your initial story, OP.
