considering HPT 9dp3dt-advice?

This is my first IVF. I did a 3d transfer last Tuesday. My beta is not until next Wednesday, but I am considering doing a HPT tomorrow. I would likely not test for the rest of the weekend because we will have houseguests. I would appreciate hearing from folks--is it worth it to take the test, to potentially get my self upset at seeing a negative when it might truly just be too early? Or at this point, in people's experience, if you are pregnant, would you get a positive?

I tested first thing in the morning 10dp3dt. It was positive.
My RE agreed to do a beta the next day instead of making me wait until 14dpt. My beta was 100, so based on that, I probably would've had a positive at 9dp too. Good luck! |

| I think you would get a positive if you are pregnant. But i would wait until Tuesday if I were you to enjoy the weekend with house guests. Also, once you get positive HPT, there will be more new things to worry about (e.g., what if it's ectopic, chemical, etc) until you get beta numbers. So it's better to wait until beta day if you can. I think it's very personal. I think it's very possible to see a BFP 9dp3dt; I got one 6dp5dt which is actually a day earlier than you're testing. For me, I prefer to test (feels like I'm doing something at least), and the early BFNs aren't devastating (I know a lot about that after 2 IUIs, 4 IVFs, and 1 BFP that ended in m/c and 1 chemical). But some people really don't like testing pre-beta.
All that said, I have seen a couple posts on this forum where people did not get a BFP until their beta (despite several negative HPTs). So a BFN tomorrow doesn't necessarily mean you're out of the game. It all depends on whether you htink you'll be more or less anxious if you get a negative tomorrow. |

| I like to test early - for me it's easier to digest and process the news either way at home. That said, some people like to wait because if you test early and get a BFP you still have to wait until the official beta and that can feel like an eternity once you know you're not pregnant (I speak from experience). |

I got a negative hpt 6dp5dt and was devistated. 8dp5dt a frer was positive. So was a digital. I will be 10 weeks tomorrow.
To me, I wish I would have waited because the emotions of seeing that first negative were really hard. Wait an extra day or two, that's my opinion. It's hard, but the possibility of inaccurate results would be hard for me. |

| I disagree with PP. You should be fine to test. Mine was positive at 5dp5dt but I also had a really strong beta, despite being pregnant with a singleton. |

| OP here, I did test on day9 and got a faint positive. Two days later, I got a solid line. Got beta result today and the number is good--in the 900's! Thanks very much to all of the PPs for sharing their experiences and thoughts. |
