| I have a quant backgorund - currently working in finance but doing more economic/statistical type research than finance per se. While this field pays well, I'm just not excited by my work. I'd prefer to switch to a field that I care a more about - maybe environment, health care, or education. Willing to take a pay cut (not a massive pay cut, but something). Thoughts on how to market myself to quant jobs in other fields when my resume screams finance? |

You have probably already thought of this but I would suggest looking at consulting firms that do a quite a bit of work in your chosen passion. For example ABT Associates in Bethesda.
I would also try to network with consultants (through your alma mater(s)) at say McKinsey for example. You could be hired as an APD consultant the specializes in a certain area. McKinsey does quite a bit of Health Care consulting. |
