People clearly do not know how to read or follow directions anymore. Today there are two separate threads about mothers helpers and babysitting in the general parenting forum. Can you please shut them down or tell them to post in proper area? |
Yeah, but that's because you don't see them anymore. I think it's ridiculous to have babysitting in a whole other forum than, say, daycare. From a parent's perspective it's all the same.
Also, when you search recent topics it doesn't come up - so unless people happen to know about the nanny forum (which, btw, isn't well titled if it's to include ALL childcare) then how would that person know? |
and why does the OP care so much? |
I find forum self-appointed cops to be a bizarre breed. |
I'm the OP. The nanny forum currently needs more people contributing whether they are parents or nannies. Right now that forum is a disaster and if MORE people would share their thoughts and opinions, it might not be such a hostile group of people. |
A cop? Maybe I just respect Jeff and his website and follow the rules. Get off your high horse. |
I see your point. I'm not trying to be a know it all, I really just wish some of the level-headed people could post more often in the Nanny Forums. |
I just added an announcement to the General Parenting Discussion forum to try to make things clearer. The best way to help is to report the nanny-issue posts so that I can deal with them.
Just to be clear to anyone who cares, this is one issue on which I am not interested in any discussion. Nor will I tolerate those who don't want to play by the rules. We have a forum for nanny and babysitter issues. Users can post there or not. But, they cannot post about those issues in this forum. End of discussion. Also, the other forum is not for all childcare. We continue to have a daycare and preschool forum here. |
They're former Hall Monitors, who still have no lives. ![]() |
Ok cool, but no one is going to post there because its not in recent topics so #ohwell. You go post there OP. |
They play an extremely helpful role for me and I greatly appreciate their efforts. I am thankful so many of our users take active roles in helping keeping things organized. |
Thank you Jeff. I appreciate you running this forum and dealing with all these crazies. |
This is good to hear, thanks! From a serial reporter. And no, I was never a hall monitor. |
Just curious - so now all childcare related posts are supposed to go in the Nanny forum? If so that hasn't really been clear (and I'm basically a DCUM addict.) So I think there should be some leeway for folks just not realizing.
I also think it would be helpful if there were some way to get stuff from the Nanny forums into some kind of recent topics feed - Maybe a new option that would pull from both? I never visit the Nanny forum (and have no intention to start), but do think I occasionally can contribute something useful to a nanny or childcare related post. And I just think you won't get a lot of folks who have the nanny thing figured out looking over there. |
19:25 back. And Jeff, I have to say that your 'post these in the nanny forum' needs to be clearer if you want all childcare posts put over there versus in general parenting. The way it reads it really seems specific to nannies/au pairs, and reading that I wouldn't think that was where a babysitter or mother's helper type post was supposed to go, so I too would post that in the General Parenting section.
Anyway, just my 2c. |
