Ladies who have had babies and can't get rid of that little bulge in the belly (maybe you have that ab condition everyone keeps talking about on here):
Have you trained yourself to suck it in all day long? I wear Spanxx and still feel like theres a slight bulge and not really flat like I'd like it. So sometimes I try sucking it in but I don't always remember. Just wondering if other people suck it in 24/7??? |
| Yup. Or I forget and look preggers. And I'm only 105 lbs. |
|
When my core is tight it just holds itself in. I did notice a difference right after my baby was born - it felt like I was just letting my gut hang out. My muscles were all relaxed. I could suck it back in, but it would flop back out when I wasn't paying attention. But after a couple of months of core work it pulled back in together again.
Sucking it in should help those muscles get back to where they need to be, but real ab/core work would probably be more effective and faster. Pilates is a great start. |
| tummy tuck is the only way |

Just stand up straight!

Ab work, along with general exercise and better nutrition (cut fat, sugar, salt, eat less), will tighten your core tremendously and make you look much more fit all the time. It's totally worth it, because the results are highly visible! I recommend the Eat Clean Diet by Tosca Reno - made me get a six-pack. Even if you do not follow it hard-core, it will lead to a slimmer and firmer mid-section. It is a lot of work, though.
However all this will not make that extra skin disappear, and just might make it look more wrinkly - but not always. If you want perfectly tight stomach skin, then a tummy tuck is the way to go. |
| I wear spanx nearly daily. So tired of it. Actually went and had lipo consult and strongly considering dropping 6 K to get abs and flanks done. |
| I work at a standing desk so I try to be really conscious of sucking in my abs, mainly to protect my back while I'm standing. They say that just the act of sucking in your abs is like isometric exercise for your ab muscles and helps to strengthen them. I've had two kids and have worked really hard to get my abs back to a place where they're not too poochy. standing at work really helps, as does exercise and diet of course. |
| Nope. I just live with who I am. |
| I'm underweight on the bmi chart and still wear spanx everyday and suck in 24/7. |
I switched from Spanx to a slimming cami. You can get them at Target. They are more comfortable than Spanx, slimming and it reminds me to tighten my abs. |
Ditto. Although my problem is more with the muffin top. I'm constantly camouflaging with clothing. |
|
OP here. Ugh, guys this is depressing. Lol.
I'm currently sucking it in. Hoping everyone that said this is a form of exercise is correct. Will look into the slimming cami. I also have the Yummy Tummy tank - are they similar? |
There is a trophy waiting for you. |
| I suck it in all the time, but I do not have the separated Abs, just a tiny buldge under my belly button that I don't like. I've lost enough weight on my own that I no longer have to rely on Spanx, which are the worst torture invention of all time. |
