and they get back to you for background check forms and to discuss salary requirements, is there any reason that you wouldnt get an offer?
I dont want to get ahead of myself and will likely find out later today, but my interview went well and the next day they called and said they wanted to move to the next stage of the process. There's nothing in my background that would be a problem and I am pretty sure my salary requirements line up with what they are offering. Have anyone gotten stalled out at this stage? |
| No experience here, but good luck to you! I hope it comes through! |

I think generally it means you will likely get an offer. Of course, there is no telling what might happen, if it's the government, funding or approval might not come in, etc.

Its a private company. Here's hoping for good news! |
| I'm in a similar position as you OP. I have been to the office three times to meet various people, I know they have checked my references and I thought for sure an offer would have come by now. The last meeting I had with them was last week and I haven't heard anything yet. I don't know if they are still looking at other candidates and want to interview everyone first or what. I keep telling myself that it has only been a week so I shouldn't think anything of it but in the past, when I have reached this stage, I had an offer within a few days. It's a small company though so it's likely they are just busy with other things. |
Have they done your background check and discussed salary? |
We discussed salary very early on but by 'discussed' I mean that they asked me salary requirements. I gave them to her and then she asked for my references so I assume she wouldn't have asked for references if my salary was out of the question?? It's a very small company so I'm sure they do not have an extensive or official background check (it's not a high security position or anything like that--they never even asked for my SSN). I had an 'in' at the company so I have a feeling that I was the first person they interviewed and hadn't even started to look at other candidates when I started the interview process. My guess is that they just want to meet a few more people in case there is someone better out there. I've never seen the position posted anywhere though so it seems to me like they find referrals from within or from the stack of resumes that they recieve blindly. I started talking to them over a month ago and at certain points, they moved very quickly and then nothing for several days. It's a tiny company though so with very few people on staff, if they are busy with a project, it's all hands on deck. They don't have a dedicated HR person so there are a million other things that the head of the company is in charge of other than hiring new people. I'm just waiting patiently--I know they will get back to me either way but just not sure when. |

OP here -
Talked to them today about salary and they have already done the credit check and are just waiting to finish the background check. Seems like I'll be getting at least a verbal offer tomorrow! Here's hoping to go into the weekend with good news! |
Good luck OP. sending you positive vibes. |
