Sit N Stroll Question

Anonymous
We are taking a week-long trip to the West Coast. A friend has graciously loaned us their Sit N Stroll, and so I have a question: I have heard that if you are planning to drive a lot on the trip, that the Sit N Stroll may actually not be worth it, because you have to re-install it as a car seat every time you take a car ride. Is this accurate? We are planning to use a rental car every day--if that is the case, should be just bring our regular car seat and umbrella stroller instead of the Sit N Stroll? Thanks in advance for any advice.

We've used Sit N Strolls for years with 2 preschoolers on long, short, and international trips. We find it's most helpful with big airports or complicated connections. The installing isn't super daunting with some practice. Our kids really like to sleep in the chairs, so we take them where we can!

Hope you have a great trip

Count me as another positive vote for the sit n stroll! I got one at the end of the summer after reading about it on this forum. First time I used it was for a multi-leg solo trip with my son involving several plane rides and lots of car trips. It was absolutely wonderful, and he loved it. It was very comfortable and he easily fall asleep in it. I just installed it as a car seat using the regular seatbelt and it was very easy. It was also useful as a booster/high chair when feeding him.

FYI - I abandoned trying to actually install carseats into rental cars (i.e. using the LAP system and digging into the sit to find the hooks) after a disatrous trip to Houston. We spent 45 minutes trying unsucessfully to install the seat while my son screamed in the garage. The rental people will not help. (We were renting the seat from the company so maybe it would have been easier with my own seat from home.). Since then, I have made peace with using the regular seat belt method to install car seats while travelling and it takes all of 30 seconds.
