So annoyed ... At ellipses posters

Please, just put the whole topic in the title ...

I don't understand
Anonymous
why
Anonymous
you'd be annoyed.

Don't you think.....
Anonymous
...this is annoying?
Anonymous
No idea.....
Anonymous
....what it is about.

You have to....
Anonymous
...open thread to get any idea what it is about.

Easy, stop looking and responding to threads with subject lines that don't give you any idea of the topic. The posters who do this will wonder why their posts get so few hits and someone who will read and respond will tell them that they did it to themselves.

Encourage evolution...make these posters either learn to use good subject lines or die out!

Yes yes yes!!!! I despise "teaser" post titles, ellipses or not. I really just don't understand why people do them -- don't they understand that they are going to get way more responses with a clear and descriptive title???

I think part of their theory is that a teaser title will draw more hits, and thus more responses. Example: "Don't you hate it when your MIL ...." Of course I'm tempted to open that thread, because maybe they're discussing some pet peeve I care about. So it's only after I've opened the thread and read it, that I'll discover it's something I don't care about. And heck, once I've put in that much effort, I may as well post some comment!

It's a terrible trap, learned from trashy websites and TV news programs. I don't have a good solution. Maybe people should start posting repeated Rickrolls on every thread with a teaser title.

The solution is to only open a thread if the subject indicates that it is worth your time.
