My favorite: Jean George - you can eat in the Nougatine portion, for more reasonable prices. Try and top restaurant for their prix fix lunch deals. The restaurant itself is really an experience. Blue Water Grill: good, very noisy. USC = Union Square Cafe - great, great burgers. BBQ-yes, in Manhattan, Blue Smoke, excellent hush puppies, BBQ, and a great bourban selection. Try West 4th street....go to Little Indian, try Havali East/West, both are very good, very cheap. If you really want adventure, go to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, and eat at Dominick's - no menu, no credit cards, no reservations, communal eating, and, the place jams. You can really only get here by car or cab. For Chinese, I recommend Big Wong on Mott Street, or Golden Unicorn, for great dim sum; for dessert, walk into Little Italy, for Ferera's

Nobu's great, but if DH is not a foodie and not into sushi it may not be his thing.

For life-changing ramen, go to Ippudo. http://www.ippudony.com/ I loved the Akamaru Modern. There can be a long wait, so plan for it or maybe go at an odd time. (I think I waited only 25 minutes for a single seat at the bar).

I was a little underwhelmed when I went to Eataly. It was fun to walk through but I didn't want to stay and eat at any of the restaurants there.

I had an absolutely wonderful brunch with friends at the restaurant at the NoMad Hotel. at http://www.thenomadhotel.com/#/dining . It is also a really beautiful space. (And I though the NoMad was an awesome hotel, if you are looking for a place to stay.)

Just went to the Mission Chinese Food in San Francisco and I'm now dying to try the one in NYC.

I usually find the Eater 38 to be a pretty reliable source for choosing restaurants.

Have a great time and happy anniversary. NYC is the absolute best. Work in a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge if you can.

I've been to Tao, BlueWater Grill and Spice Mareket all were great. Spice market was my fav out if the three maybe because I have been to the others more than once. There is a place kind if across the street from SM that's on a corner donuts sort if triangle shaped, forget the name but its really good. Still crave their polenta fries with truffle oil mmmmm

Check out Il Buco; its my favorite restaurant by far been there 3 time always excellent

Me again...just got back.

Eating highlight was Amelie (French) in the East Village. Full of French people so that should tell you something. We also enjoyed brunch at Blue Water Grill and lunch at Katz's Deli on Houston. We also had some good appetizers and margaritas at Sinigual.
