Easter baster for 14 YO Girl and 8 YO Boy

Anonymous
I signed up to donate an Easter basket for a 14 YO girl and 8 YO boy as the older kids are the ones usually not selected.

Any ideas on whatto put in the basket (other than a selection of candy?)

Do 8YOs like Bey Blades?

14 year old girl:
Nail polish
shower gel, lotion, etc. from Bath and body works
Earbuds for an ipod

8 year old boy:
I have an 8 year old boy and he's not as into Beyblades anymore

I am giving mine
swim goggles
a new beach towel
a skylanders figure

I've never heard of organizations that give away Easter baskets...is this through your church?

yes - for many children living in poverty or homeless (including 14 YO's) they only get things at Christmas. My church does an Easter Basket donation program.

thanks for all of the tips.

My older son started getting into that series about 4th grade or so...so if this boy is mature, he might like it.

My 8 year old (I'm a pp who said she got swim goggles for her 8 year old) is less mature, and he is really into the Magic Treehouse series right now.

Another series my older son liked, starting about 4th grade or so, was the "Warriors" Series by Erin Hunter. I know you mentioned that this is through your church, so I would urge you to check out the series a bit first and make sure it's nothing your church would object to. IMO (as a Catholic) it is fine, the cats are Pagan...but I guess some religious groups object to it, so I thought I'd mention that.

Don't forget the chocolate bunny for each of them. That is a must. And peeps, I guess, though does anyone really eat those?
