Room colors

We will be selling our house in 2 years (we are military) and we have a few rooms that are painted a white/cream. I kind of want to paint some of them - both bathrooms actually - but wonder if leaving them plain is better? I won't do anything crazy but just wondering is 'plain' or 'stylish color' is more attractive to buyers?

I think having a little color is nice - there are lots of color options that are still neutral-ish but give a little personality. On a small room like a bathroom, don't use too bright of a color because it can shrink the room. I used a lot of creams for my main living room and hallways, a sage green for the powder room, grey for the dining room, light yellow for my son's room, a spring green for my daughter's (that is a pretty bold one and not for everyone) and a warm grey/brown for the master bedroom.

A house with colors on the wall would probably make more of an impact on me, and would be more memorable. I suppose the case could be made for neutral colors everywhere though. I would just advise against doing any really dark colors, since a lot of people are wary about trying to paint over dark colors. (like red.)

If it's not crazy, I think you're fine if you'd like to paint.

We're looking at houses now, and some of the colors I've seen are attractive and a bit of a plus. Enjoy your home, OP, even if it is just for a couple of years. (Spouse of a veteran talking here.)
