would like private for HS, does it matter where we go to middle school--basis, latin or hardy?

am going crazy trying to figure out if it matters, realize no one has a crystal ball, but anyone know about track records for getting into private HS coming out of DCPS? thanks.

It really doesn't matter where your DC attends for MS. What is your DC's grades like? Does s/he do any extra-curricular activities? Those things matter more than the current school attending.

Most important is to be academically prepared once into the private HS, the testing (SSAT) not exactly at a high level, and doesn't assess writing, so really important to choose a school (for HS and for life in general) that will give the best academic preparation for success in terms of math skills, writing, vocabulary. Talk to prior parents that had kids at each of these schools who went onto top privates and find out whether they were well-prepared.
