Anyone else traveling for FET cycle?

Anonymous
Good morning,

I'm going to LA for a FET cycle and can't seem to get an answer from the clinic as to how long I need to stay. Please share your experience.

Thanks!

I travelled to the west coast, too. I left the afternoon before my FET, had FET the next morning, and lounged around in the hotel for the rest of that day and night, and left early in the afternoon the day after FET.

Wow...that was a quick trip!!

How did you time the traveling dates so that you arrived just in time for the transfer? And where did you go for monitoring?

Sorry, forgot to check back on this thread! With an FET, once you get your period on the cycle before the FET, they calendar out the cycle and they know the exact date of the transfer. My cycle was fully medicated (Lupron, then added in estrogen to grow my lining, then after X days, stop Lupron and begin progesterone, tx 5days later). So I was able to do book the ticket back when the calendar was made. My body usually responds the same way and responds well to the meds. I guess if you were afraid of having lining issues that might postpone the start of progesterone and therefore transfer, you might not want to buy the ticket so early. But no matter what, once your lining is good to go and you get the OK to start progesterone, then you will know your transfer date right then (3 days later if you have day 3 embryos, 5 days later for day 5 blasts, etc etc). Southwest is also great for no fees. If you are stressed about a possible flight cancellation, I would probably book a slightly earlier flight! I'm not too risk averse . I went to CFA for local monitoring.

Thanks for the response!

We have to book our tickets now for late May/early June in order to use our United miles. I finally got a response from my doctor and they'll work with those dates.
