Rain shower?

Do you have a rain shower head in your home? Love it/hate it?

I don't have one, but I hate them. I feel like I'm drowning if I'm under it or freezing because the only way to avoid it is to step out from under it and away from the water. Totally annoyed when I go to a hotel and that's what they have.

We put the rain shower in plus a regular shower head. I find the water pressure is too low on rain one to properly get the soap out of my hair... But maybe it is low so you don't feel like you are drowning? It does feel nice, but I use the other to get the soap out.

Have one, (a Kohler something or other) love it but I see the "drowning panic" instinct stated by the PP... we just happen to like water boarding I guess

Two notes- to maintain flow we have to reach up and knock calcium out of the holes (jets? nipples?) now and again but they are well designed out of a silicone so it just breaks free (rather than using vinegar). Shower has a second normal head that we almost never use- key to having & using both is having independent supply lines (otherwise, no pressure).

HATE them!! There's no way to use one without getting your hair wet! I stayed in a rental house a few months ago that had one, and gave myself a backache trying to shower and keep my hair dry. Ugh. What a horrible invention.

We have one and a regular shower head. Dh LOVES the rain shower. I only use the regular one.

Same here on all counts. About once a month I just run my hands across the holes. I love the rain shower but I probably do use a lot of water to get my hair rinsed.

Have used in hotels and hate them. Takes forever to wash my hair - both getting it wet in the first place and rinsing. Poor aim for washing everything else. Low pressure. I do not see the appeal at all.

Hate them. I hate getting my face wet in the shower. I usually wash my face with lukewarm water or cold water and especially hate hot shower water on my face.

Also impossible to keep your hair and face dry if you take a quick rinse off and don't want to mess up your makeup.

I have a Kohler one and I hate it!!! The water drips and it takes forever to shower.

I hate it. My 2 and 5 yr old love it. They think showering in mommy's shower is fun. The 5 yr old helps th 2 yr old wash his hair. I don't have to get wet or bend down. Therefore I love it.

Thank you all for posting all the "cons" to a rain shower. I thought I was the only one who dreads getting my face wet in the shower (I like really hot showers but hate thought of hot water in my face AND in my eyes!) I think you just saved me from a MAJOR mistake!!!

I wouldn't buy a house without one. For me, it is a deal breaker.

I'm not a fan, personally prefer body jets and a hand wand if I'm going to have more than a simple shower head. Unless your in-house pressure is above 60 psi you really need a pump to make it work properly.
