Damnit i wish this would drag on for a couple of weeks and postpone the success.

You obviously don't remember the late summer/fall of 1978. I was 8 years old. Pope gets "elected" (or whatever it is) and then dies 33 days later. Have to go that junk again. I just remember smoke, smoke, smoke.... and it seemed like it took weeks on end.
All the good after tv cartoons were off so the "regular" stations (no cable, no all news channels) could broadcast from Rome. It was pure torture... I just wanted Tom & Jerry! |

| Why is it such a big deal who the new pope is? I'm not Catholic, but even if I was, how does it matter? It's not like the pope can change the religios doctrine or anything. What changes for you as a Catholic with a new pope? |
